Filevault 2 (Apple)

FileVault 2 is a whole-disk encryption feature available on Mac computers running OS X Lion and later. It secures the data stored on the Mac's startup drive by using XTS-AES-128 encryption with a recovery key that can be stored with Apple's FileVault Recovery Service, and/or a personal recovery key set by the user. The software operates transparently in the background, meaning users can continue to use their machines as normal without experiencing any performance lag from data encryption. FileVault 2 also supports institutional oversight and management through Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions for large-scale deployment across an organization's fleet of Macs.
