Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is an event-driven programming language for the Windows versions of Microsoft Office applications. VBA can be used to develop user-defined functions (UDFs), automate repetitive tasks, create forms and controls within the Excel spreadsheet interface or other Office documents. It extends the capabilities of these applications through macros written in VBA that work with databases, COM libraries or web services. The syntax and semantics are similar to Visual Basic 6.0 and provide powerful tools for customizing Office documents to suit specific business needs.
